Cheeca Lodge is one of Islamorada's most impressive lodging accommodations on an island
where hotels and motels are as plentiful as palm trees. Besides being home to the well
known George Bush/ Cheeca Lodge annual bonefishing tournament, Cheeca Lodge is also one of
the few destinations that offer an executive golf course and on-site spa. Guests will
enjoy ocean views from their luxury rooms and a host of amenities, water activities, and
dining adventures at a facility that has won too many awards to list.
Luxurious Suites at Cheeca Lodge
Accommodations range from very affordable standard lodge rooms to luxurious two-bedroom
suites. All are comfortably air-conditioned and most include private balconies that make a
perfect spot to enjoy morning sunrises or evening cocktails. Also included in each room is
a full mini-bar, remote control TV with VCR, AM/FM radio/CD player, direct dial telephone
with voice mail, data port, coffee makers, hair dryer, and ceiling fans. Suites are
impressively equipped with full kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, and private
screened balcony.
Activities at Cheeca Lodge
One of the most impressive features at Cheeca Lodge is the expansive pool environment.
Sunbathers will enjoy relaxing by the pool only a few feet from the Atlantic and well
within reach of the attentive staff. The pool is large enough to swim laps and easily
accommodates a wealth of children and adults. A lengthy dock stretches out into the
shallow flats and serves as the base for the many water activities offered at the lodge.
Snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and windsurfing are popular here as well as chartered
private boat excursions, champagne sunset cruises, and sailing. The dock is also a
favorite fishing spot. Golfer Jack Nicklaus once landed a trophy bonefish
here and many other catches are possible including mangrove snapper, barracuda, and
tarpon.
Golf and tennis are difficult to find in the Florida Keys yet Cheeca Lodge has them both.
A challenging nine-hole par-three course that has recently been renovated to enhance
playing conditions is the perfect solution for guests who enjoy their sports off the
water. Tennis pros are available for private and group lessons on Cheeca's six lighted
courts that frequently host local tournaments and clinics.
Avanyu Spa at Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada
Avanyu Spa at Cheeca Lodge is the latest addition to their already remarkable list of
amenities. This 5,000 square foot facility is a state-of-the-art health spa and fitness
center and strives to provide guests with the "ultimate in personalized, professional, spa
and exercise services." The spa boasts four massage therapy rooms, two facial rooms, and
one wet treatment room for mud wraps, skin purifications, and anti-stress wraps. Enjoy
your favorite spa treatment and then head to the pool area to soak up some sun or enjoy a
soothing dip in one of the five secluded hot tubs at the lodge.
Cheeca Lodge's Impressive Dining
Dining options include two award-winning restaurants and a casual lounge,
offering a blend of casual fare and elegant cuisine. The Atlantic's Edge Dining Room
specializes in fresh local seafood, succulent steaks, and signature appetizers. All of the
food and drinks here surpass Cheeca's very high standards and the service is second to
none.
Cheeca Lodge is located at mile marker 82 in Islamorada Florida.
